Environmental stewardship and efficiency go hand in hand
A large health system wanted to make its logistics more efficient while simultaneously improving patient care and helping the environment. MedSpeed’s streamlined solution needed fewer vehicles on the road, lowering CO2 production and driving agile utilization of the connected network.

Right-sized network reduces emissions
MedSpeed started by collecting data about the current logistics operations and service needs. With data in hand, the analytical team worked collaboratively with the customer to develop a more streamlined logistical operation. The network routing was constructed to support time-sensitive movements and flexibility for emergencies.
The change has also helped the customer take other costs out of the system. For instance, a pharmacy that orders a 12-pack of a medication while only needing two doses can send the remainder to another facility that might need the same item using the logistics network. Medications that may expire and end up in a landfill can be repositioned in another facility that can use them before expiration.
By reimagining its logistics to better align with its environmental goals, the health system achieved the additive benefit of making its operations more efficient.
