MedSpeeders Deliver Urgent Packages to Pediatric Patients Right Before Holiday
The day before a major holiday, one of MedSpeed’s health system customers needed to send 13 critical deliveries to pediatric patients undergoing chemotherapy. These deliveries spanned 640 miles across Pennsylvania, Ohio, and West Virginia. Due to the holiday, overnight mail and parcel delivery options were unavailable.
The customer reached out to MedSpeed, their same-day logistics partner, to see if we could help.
Realizing the gravity of the situation, MedSpeed’s operations team immediately developed a solution. Seven of our dedicated Logistic Service Representatives (LSRs), our term for our drivers, came together to tackle this pressing task. Jim Sweeney and Jerry Michak handled the West Virginia deliveries. The Pennsylvania deliveries were operated by Alex Antonelli, Jim Chavanic, Ryan Berry, and Eric Robinson.
Time was of the essence, but caution was paramount. Given the sensitive nature of the deliveries, many items required temperature control. Our LSRs ensured that their MedSpeed vehicles were equipped with specialized coolers to maintain the integrity of the medical supplies during transit.
Despite the challenges posed by the holiday rush, our team remained committed to their mission. With precision and care, they navigated through traffic and weather conditions to ensure that each delivery reached its destination promptly and securely.
The patients received their critical deliveries on time and the customer expressed gratitude for our support and service.
We would like to thank our MedSpeed team for ensuring that even amidst the holidays, the healthcare needs of vulnerable patients were met with urgency and care.
