MedSpeeders Come together to Combat a Broken Troponin Analyzer
Earlier this year, one of MedSpeed’s health system customers, located in Baltimore, was greatly in need of our services. Their Troponin analyzer went down, and they were caught in a scary situation.
This analyzer measures the levels of protein in someone’s blood. More protein is released when someone’s heart muscle has been injured, so this is a crucial test for a patient in need and delayed results are not an option.
To combat this issue, MedSpeed was contacted. The customer had a Troponin analyzer at another nearby lab. The plan was to transport samples 24 hours a day between the labs until the original analyzer was up and running. This allowed the original health system to stay open and provide accurate and timely test results for patients.
Three Logistics Service Representatives, or LSRs, MedSpeed’s term for our drivers, sprang into action. Ken Longenecker, Ed Baker, and Mike Payne, who have been MedSpeeders for over 3 years, worked together to take these routes for five days. On the first day, Ken went above and beyond and worked 15 hours straight to ensure the deliveries happened.
Due to these three LSRs’ inspiring commitment to the health of their communities, they were able to deliver these specimens safely, timely, and carefully so that tests were processed punctually. We would love to give a huge thank you to these LSRs for getting the job done, we appreciate everything you do!
