MedSpeeder Makes Life-Saving Delivery on Christmas Eve Night
At 11:00 pm on Christmas Eve, one of MedSpeed’s health system customers had a problem. The customer was caring for a very sick patient and needed a 250-pound CRRT Dialysis Machine transported from a nearby facility to the hospital immediately. The patient would most likely not survive the night if the machine did not get there in the next two hours.
Jesse Schneider, a MedSpeeder for 12 years and Operations Supervisor out of Milwaukee, WI, took the call from the customer and jumped into action. Jesse immediately contacted Miqueas Inostrosa, one of our Logistics Service Representatives (MedSpeed’s term for our drivers) who is Commercial Motor Vehicle Certified.
Even though he had worked earlier in the day, Miqueas, a MedSpeeder for 7.5 years, decided to take time away from holiday celebrations to move the machine for the patient. Miqueas immediately headed to the MedSpeed hub to gather his MedSpeed box truck, scanner and equipment. He went to the pickup location, carefully loaded the machine, and transported it to the destination. Amazingly, he delivered the machine in 1 hour and 15 minutes.
While the actions of our team day-in and day-out always have an impact on care in our communities, critical situations like this reinforce our mission and impact.
Thank you, Miqueas and Jesse, for ensuring our customers can deliver care to their patients!
