MedSpeeder Drives the Distance and Maintains Temperature Control for Patient

Summer presents weather with scorching hot temperatures. Within the healthcare industry, this means specimens must be handled safely and responsibly.

This past June, MedSpeeder Stan Clark ensured this.

A patient in Atlanta required an expensive specialty medication that needed to be kept cool, so a timely delivery with cooling capabilities was a necessity.

The nearest dose of the medication was about a three-hour one-way drive from the patient’s location in Chattanooga, TN, which was outside the distance of the normal scheduled routes. The patient urgently needed the medication. The client contacted MedSpeed to see if we could transport the medicine from Chattanooga to Atlanta safely and as soon as possible.

Melissa Fritts, our Operations Supervisor of our Chattanooga hub, worked quickly to see if a MedSpeed On-Demand Logistics Service Representative or LSR (MedSpeed’s title for our drivers) was available. LSR Stan Clark volunteered right away to help make the delivery from the Chattanooga side. Stan picked up the pharmaceutical and began driving south.

Meanwhile, back in Atlanta, Kevin Umba, a MedSpeed LSR, volunteered to drive north, make the handoff, and deliver the medication to its final destination. The patient received this VIP medication promptly due to our MedSpeeders’ safe handling, fast efficiency, and dedication to delivering health.
