A Heartfelt Thank You to Our Veterans
We want to take this week to recognize all veterans, and especially those who are MedSpeeders. The impact of your service is echoed in the communities you’ve protected and the communities you still service today by delivering health.
Our team is very proud to have veterans across the country. We highlighted five of our MedSpeed veterans below so you can meet and learn a little more about them.
Luis Luna, Air Force, Served: 20 years, MedSpeed LSR, Appleton, WI
What is your fondest memory from service?
Getting to ride in a F-15 over Italy.
Why did you join MedSpeed?
I believed driving would be an enjoyable opportunity. I enjoy how friendly the customers are.
What skills from service help you at MedSpeed?
Hard work, dedication, and pride.
Anthony Hendricks, Navy, Served: 10 years, MedSpeed LSR, Edison, NJ
What is your fondest memory from service?
I have a fond memory of the Navy tradition of crossing the equator for the first time. I went from “Pollywog” to a “Shellback.”
Why did you join MedSpeed?
I like helping patients receive the best care possible.
What skills from service help you at MedSpeed?
The teamwork and camaraderie remind me of my time with fellow sailors.

What is your fondest memory from service?
Getting the opportunity to travel to meet new people and learn about the different cultures around the world.

I wanted the opportunity to continue to serve my community and be part of a team with a purpose.

What is your fondest memory from service?
Recognition as one of the best to effectively coordinate first responders, search planning & coordinating rescue. I’ve been commended with over 3,000 lives saved and 25,000 lives assisted.

MedSpeed fulfills my desire to continue to help people.

Joe Hathway, Marine Corps, Served: 20 years, MedSpeed Operations Supervisor II, Temple, TX
What is your fondest memory from service?
During deployment with the 15th MEU in September 2010, the MV Magellan Star had been taken over by pirates. My platoon was the assault element to liberate the vessel.
Why did you join MedSpeed?
I joined for the opportunity to have an impact on my community.

My task organization, prioritization, stress management, communication, reporting and attention to detail.
Maria Fragoso, Army, Served: 4 years, IT Support Specialist, Elmhurst, IL
What is your fondest memory from service?
During a frosty training session stationed in Alaska, our First Sergeant abruptly ordered us to stop and turn around to take in the enchantment of the Northern Lights.

I was drawn by MedSpeed’s commitment and sense of purpose to improving healthcare logistics and patient care.
