I was especially encouraged by two major findings from the survey:
- 75% reported that their organization has a defined strategy for intra-company logistics
- 100% reported that achieving systemness is very important to their health system
Clearly intra-company logistics is something near and dear to my heart, and I’ve written a lot about systemness over the past couple of years. But the thing I found really heartening is that these survey responses bear out the continued growing interest we’ve seen in intra-company logistics. And, it indicates that healthcare leaders are aware of the beneficial impact it can have on their organizations.
Every respondent reported that the efficiency of healthcare transportation has an impact on care delivery at their organization – which we know to be true. Our firsthand experience has proven that transportation done right can help healthcare organizations reduce risk, eliminate redundancies and centralize services—which definitely impacts care.
One Chief Strategy Officer who was quoted in the report said, “The organization can’t operate without the right supplies being at the right place at the right time. If supplies are not available then care is impacted.”
And that is exactly why we started MedSpeed in the first place. Our goal was to become the expert in transportation and intra-company logistics so that our healthcare organization clients could focus on what they do best: delivering excellent patient care.
